H.E. Zainal Abidin Bakar, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Czech Republic and Alexandr Onishenko are pleased to invite to the exhibition of THETA, a Malaysian art exhibition The exhibition will take place from 22 to 30 May 2013 on the premises of the Galerie Jakubska, Jakubska 4, 110 00 Praha 1.

I am pleased and proud to present this exhibition of Malaysian artists, among whom is one of the most significant contemporary names – painter, sculptor, writer, professor and curator, Yusof Ghani. Inspired by American Abstract Expressionists – Pollock and de Kooning, this artist eventually decided to pursue fine arts, and he succeeded in developing his own style of painting. In bringing this exhibition to Galerie Jakubska in Prague, I see an opportunity not only to enable a Czech and European audience to be more closely acquainted with Art born on a different continent, but also to provide our visitors with a special opportunity to be continuously stimulated, inspired, and challenged. I believe that Art reflects no religion, nationality or political beliefs. And we are all glad to work in the knowledge that our exhibitions are to be enjoyed by the local, national, and international communities at large, and not just a select audience. A.Onishenko
